This Maryland Transit Administration a Division of is Maryland Department of Transportation Metro project involves the reconstruction of the State Center Station and the Charles Center Station double crossovers and adjacent sections of track, including replacement of all special trackwork, direct fixation fasteners and all required modifications to contact rail, traction power cables and system cables. Work will be performed in four (4) stages in a ninety-one (91) day construction period, during which service will be always maintained on one track. Charles Center DXO will be reconstructed in the first two stages, followed by the State Center DXO in two stages. This is very specialized trackwork, being performed within the confined space of the Metro tunnel. Both locations are with in the City of Baltimore limites
